About
Modified:
I could write a generic statement about being a mom, wife, nurse, friend, and multiple other titles that many of us hold. Â The truth is, I think I am still discovering who I am and learning to put it all together and fully completely embrace that person.
An appreciation for who we are  doesn’t come easy for many of us-but I intend to do just that!  I’ve struggled with my weight and accepting my strengths, weaknesses, talents, qualities and beauty (internal and external).  My appearance and weight have challenged me since I was young.  I’ve tried losing weight(often being successful, but then regaining), I’ve looked for the answers in celebrities, personal trainers, books, TV shows and every diet there is.  I always focused on appearance and numbers.
In the last 18months I’ve finally started to get a grasp on how I got to be 100lbs over weight  and how it affected my life.  I do get what it takes to live a fit healthy life vs going on a diet and then maintaining.  I’ve figured out without a doubt how I want to get fit and healthy, and so far I’ve lost 30lbs, improved my strength, cardiovascular health and mental health. My way will be to live a fit, healthy happy life, deal with challenges thrown at me and become what I live.
I’ve decided to do this my way, of course I’m not going to ignore all the information I’ve had access to over the last 30 years of dieting, but I’m going to get real. Â I’m going to cook real food and live an active life. Â Getting real mentally and physically in present times is not easy. Â There’s an incredible amount of information and experts out there, we’re sliping away from the basics and reality of food, health and movement. Â Our family is returning to that, simplicity.
Feel free to read, comment and follow along as I see if this will work. Â Some posts will be personal and others practical, would love for you to look around at the old and new. No more diets, this is about me. Â You will see the words I and me a lot, but that’s what I’ve finally figured out: it’s about me and my life (this of course involves everyone and everything around me). Â Enjoy, I wish you all love, health and happiness.
